Twelve names. One living ink. A story that erases itself.
The ink fell
out of the sky
12 March 1961 — Vermilion City. An unfinished page comes down through the atmosphere and hits the roof of the Vollard print works.
03:41. Nobody saw it coming. The sky opened like a double-page spread.
The ink was looking for something. Not a surface. Characters.
Twelve residents touched it that night. Twelve of them came back changed. The rest of the city took longer — and it is still being redrawn.
The Inked
The twelve the ink made first. Behind them, five hundred more people out of Vermilion City — 342 who stood up and 170 who did not. Each one is written, drawn and numbered on its own, and there is one copy of each.
New blood
Inked after the first printing. Same page, same ink, one copy each.
What is left
when you forget
The threat
THE ERASER
He does not kill you.
He stops you being looked at.
A panel nobody reads goes white. The background first. Then the face. Then the name.
What is left is a pale shape in the middle of the paper, and nothing to say who it was.
A copy somebody owns is a copy somebody looks at.
That is the only thing that has ever stopped him — and it is the whole bet behind this collection.
The rogues
He does not work alone. A hundred and seventy of the five hundred and twelve are on his side of the page, and they pull like anybody else.
The Print Run
512 people, one per panel of the album: 64 pages, eight to a page. 342 stood up, 170 did not. No reprint — the forme closes when the last one goes.
Announced price, no auction. Five per address at most, in every phase. No contract is deployed yet, nothing here is a sale, and nothing on this board reserves anything for anybody.
Inking not open
Merkle allowlist, 0.06 ETH. No list has been drawn up and no contract is deployed, so nothing is reserved for anybody yet. Up to five per address, the same cap as the public phase.
Print run date not set
Public opening, 0.08 ETH per piece, five per address. No date until the contract is audited and deployed.
Newsstand after
Secondary market. No on-chain royalty is set in this contract — if one is added before deployment this line will say the rate and the standard it uses.
Mint a hero
You do not choose your hero. The book opens, the pages run, and it stops on the one that is yours.
Trial proof — no wallet, no contract, no transaction: the draw runs in your browser and gives you nothing but a look at the panel you could get. The page is set the moment you press the button, and stopping the book early never changes it.
Minting will not work like this. The contract gives out consecutive numbers and shifts them all by one offset drawn at reveal, so five in one transaction means five neighbouring pieces of the run, not five separate draws. The tier odds below are right for one piece at a time.
SEALED
One copy of issue no. 1, unopened. Mint it and the hero you land on is printed here.
Trial proof — no wallet, no contract, no transaction: the draw runs in your browser.

Counted from art/run/catalogue-512.json when this page was built: 512 slots, one character each, one copy of each, dealt on a shuffle that is fixed for everybody. With the script running the same figures are recounted in the page and a fourth column appears, showing what is left to draw — a copy already in your longbox is skipped while others remain, so the odds on your next pull move as you collect. Preview only — no wallet, no contract, no transaction, nothing acquired.
Your longbox is empty. It lives in this browser only.
Every back in the box is a copy you have looked at, not a copy you own — there is nothing to own yet. Clearing the box costs nothing and changes nothing outside this browser.
Mint a hero
Minting is switched off in this build. No mint contract is wired up yet.
One hero per transaction. Batch minting stays off until the per-transaction limit is read from the contract, so this page cannot send you into a revert.
Real money A real transaction on a real network. Your wallet will ask you to sign, and the amount leaves your account.
Gas is charged by the network, not by us, and a failed transaction still costs gas. We take no fee beyond the price above.
Nothing is charged until you sign. A failed transaction still costs gas.
Contents
The roadmap is a series, and none of it is promised. Nothing below is built, funded or scheduled — each issue would only follow the one before it selling out.
The Sky Opens
Origin, the whole cast, the site you are reading. All 512 pieces are drawn, and nothing is minted: there is no contract on any chain yet.
The Supporting Cast
A second run of Vermilion City residents, written the way these were. Nothing about it is fixed yet, including whether it happens — issue 1 has to sell out first.
The White War
Who faces the Eraser, and who does not come back from the panel. We would like holders to choose. Nothing on chain counts a vote today, so that is a hope and not a mechanism.
Paper Edition
Bound 64-page album, screen-printed. The print run and who gets one would be decided once issue 1 is sold out. Nothing is promised yet.
What people
keep asking
The Collection
Five hundred and twelve people out of Vermilion City, one copy of each. Heroes, rogues, and the twelve the ink made first.
TO BE CONTINUED…
Issue 2 is on press. If you got this far you read the whole page — which, in this city, is enough to keep it from being erased.
